Penang Trip

Day 1
It's a sunny day and we started our journey to Penang. We met at 9.30am at bus stop and take a 6 hours bus to Penang. Go Go Go Penang!
STARTING OUR TRIP !!! so excited. 


We are now at Penang and taking ferry to Penang Island. It only costs RM1.20 for ferry fare. This is my first time taking ferry. The staircase is really slanted and we need to be very careful when we walk down.

We suppose to visit the famous 3D museum in Penang after the interesting ferry trip. However, we didn't expect that the bus journey to penang takes 6 hours.The museum close at 6.00pm, so we decide to change our plan. We take taxi to our hostel in muntri street, name "muntri house".

The reception area of Muntri House. We check in here and apply for locker which cost us RM10.00 for deposit. The accommodation fees for each person is RM23.00 per day.

Breakfast being provided by Muntri house. Bread, jam, coffee and tea is being served as breakfast.

Here we are in our room! There are total of four double-deck bed in the room which means there will be eight person in a room. Although the space is limited, but it is still acceptable as i prefer to spend my time moving around Penang rather than stay inside bedroom for long duration of time.

The locker costs us RM10.00 as deposit. However, the lock of the locker was damage and unable to hold tight. It makes me feel insecure. I decide to keep all valuable thing with me as we will not be compensated for any loss causing by used of the lockr.

The room is furnished with air-conditioner.
There are no toilet in our room. We will need to use the public toilet at first floor for shower and excretion. There are two public toilet located at first floor.

Hairdryer is provided outside of the toilet. It is free of charge to use.

The area for us to dry our clothes. However, due to hygiene issue, most people decide to hang it inside the room.

Ironing area for us to iron our clothes.


After a small break in the hostel, we walk around the muntri street to find some food there as we are hungy.
My first dinner in Penang-------double meat burger. Actually i order double cheese but don't know why the Indian guy do double meat for me. Anyway, it is still very delicious.

And some kuih-muih. All this kuih-muih is made by sweet potato.


Traditional shop house everywhere in Penang. It had been here since long time ago. Most of the shop maintain the traditional design of building but with modern renovation inside the shop.

Tricycle is traditional vehicle. It's hard to seen at Kuala Lumpur but it's quite common at Penang in tourism area.


There are a lot of temple near by our hostel. This is because Penang consist large amount of chinese population.This is Penang Ya Kam Hong



 This is Thean Hou Temple, the most beautiful temple near by our hostel.



This is ' Qi Ling', the guardian of temple. There is a Chinese traditional that before you enter the temple put your hand inside' Qi Ling' s mouth, the ball inside its' mouth can change your bad luck to good luck.

A believer is praying around blessing for good luck.
This is the land god which commonly seen everywhere.

The famous Penang street art! Street art in Penang is one of the attractive point for tourist. Certain old wall gained new lease of life. This isLittle Girl in Blue” Mural, Muntri Street, George Town, Penang
"One leg kick all", It represent some one do all the households chores by himself and in cantonese as "Yat Keok Tet".There are a lot of street art near by our hostel. It is quite interesting for us because we cannot found it in Kuala Lumpur.

In Georgetown is also a lot of hotel, we keep going around to see the surrounding at there.This path lead us to the entrance of a hotel.

A beautiful hotel at the end of walk way. Simple and clean environment.



Yeng Ken hotel, is near by our hosel also. A lot of renter resting outside of the hitel.

We are very tired after the long walk around the town. We decide to have a supper at street stall before going back to Muntri house. I choose 'Wantan mee' as my supper. Although it is same type of food with the one at Kuala Lumpur. But the taste is quite different and special.
After finish the supper, we go back to hostel. We take a bath and sleep around 11.00 pm because our schedule tomorrow is Escape Park!! We need to save our energy for tomorrow.
